Members of the international artist group Cobra-an acronym for Copenhagen, Brussels and Amsterdam- would have been very content with critiques like that. The short-lived group (1946-1951) expressed their protest against the academic approach in art and the atrocities of WWII. Wouldn’t it be better to find inspiration in the pure and innocent child’s mind and its drawings, rather than the intellectual ‘rules’ of the art academia’s in the grown-up world? Spontaneity, fantasy and unspoiled expression was what they were about.

The ‘You Had Me At Loyalty’ Collection has no artistic aspirations. It likes to ‘listen to its inner child’ and allow some playfulness. Changing the world into a better place ‘is not a childish thing’; it can be complex. But finding inspiration in the ‘pure and innocent mind of a child’ can result in simple Elegant solutions, available just in front of you…. Sometimes simple is better.
